Announcements:

The December issue will be the last free Dead Tree version of Einblatt. If you want to continue to receive a Dead Tree version, it will be available by subscription at $10/year. Subscription submittal information will be announced next month. The various electronic versions will continue to be free. Note: the PDF version is configured to nicely printable on 8.5x11 paper.

We hope to send the new paper edition of the Minn-StF Directory out with the December Einblatt. This means the December Einblatt will be going to anyone who is currently receiving the Dead Tree version or is listed in the new directory.

Anyone want to volunteer to host the Minn-StF Pool Party on 14 Feb. '09? Please contact Lydia or any board member.

Ex-local Steven Brust's Jhegaala was #3 hc on the Locus bestseller list in October issue, and #9 hc on the Barnes and Noble/B. Dalton list in the same issue.

MaryJanice Davidson's Undead And Unworthy made the New York Times Book Review bestseller list in July, peaking at #22.

Local publisher (Minneapolis): Bascom Hill has released The Bird Shaman by Judith Moffett as a tp.

Catherine Lundoff's story "Medusa's Touch" (from Crave: Tales of Lust, Love and Longing, Lethe Press, 2007) was short-listed for the 2008 Spectrum Awards, Short Fiction Category. www.spectrumawards.org/2008.htm
