Terra, Solar System Geri Sullivan Toad Hall 3444 Blaisdell Ave S Minneapolis, Minnesota Dear Geri, No doubt if there had been a ReinCONation this year, you'd be one of the chief organizers[1] of the event. That way I could write to you and you'd be able to pass along the note to the proper people. I must admit that I suppose I'm disappointed. If ReinCONation had occurred, who knows -- I might have been able to show up and visit Minneapolis, which I've missed. Not the city itself, mind you; it's the wonderful people who live there. I could have attended a wonderful late-night party, complete with hospitable hosts, music, excellent conversation, and room to play Hakosot[2]. I could have met and surprised old friends, made some new ones, and generally relaxed and had a wonderful time. I could have benefited from the excellent Minneapolis and fannish tradition of "crash space" hospitality. Not only that, but the next day, after a leisurely brunch, I might have finally seen the Dream Haven bookstore, lollygaggled about, and chatted with some friends, even the ones from Chicago that I never see. I've never seen it before, and I've always wondered about Dream Haven[3]. And, in the end, just before flitting away, I could have said good-bye and thanked everyone. Maybe even written a thank-you note so that they would know that their efforts are sincerely appreciated. But since there was no ReinCONation, I guess that couldn't have happened. Ah, well, perhaps there won't be one next year, too. [2] With genuine Dixie cups, no less! [3] Or maybe that's "DreamHaven," not "Dream Haven"? See what happens when you don't have the opportunity to visit?
